@Sju hav: When I started the articel I was more intrested in the project it self instead of the catastrophy. Especally there were almoast no information about the catastrophy. Sehr viele Quellen sprechen von 5 billion litres, was dann nur 5 Milliarden Liter sind im modernen amerikanischen und britischen Englisch.

Diese Quelle https://www.power-technology.com/projects/xe-pian-xe-namnoy-hydroelectric-power-project/ über den Damm besagt "The Xe Namnoy reservoir. .. will have a capacity to store approximately 1,043 million cubic meters (MCM) of water." also ein Gesamtvolumen von rund 1 Milliarden m³ - und das ist jetzt 5x ausgelaufen? 5 km³ wären definitiv auch keine lokal Katastrophe mehr.--Andreas D.(Diskussion)

Es ging mir nicht um Einheiten, sondern um den Faktor 1000, der möglicherweise nur ein Übersetzungsfehler ist. Die 0,5 Milliarden m³ von http://kpl.gov.la sind dann schon plausibler. Nach der Skizze hier http://www.pnpclaos.com/index.php/en/project/technical-information könnte man sogar nachvollziehen, wie die Hälfte eines Reservoirs in relativ kurzer Zeit auslaufen kann. --Andreas D.(Diskussion)

Bitte diesen Artikel auf Wikidata mit en:Attapeu dam collapse usw. zusammenführen. Beides sind Mischungen aus Bauwerkartikel und Ereignisartikel. Eine formalistische Auftrennung in zwei Artikel macht aber imho wenig Sinn, denn die dann allemal notwendigen Doppelungen führen erfahrungsgemäss nur zu mehr Pflegeproblemen.
