Dr. Christophe Ramstein (January 3, 1966 in France is a serial entrepreneur specialised in tech companies and licensing businesses. Driven by the aspiration to make people’s lives better he revolutionised the field of haptics with his own company, Haptic Technologies, in Canada, as well as with the leading global licensor Immersion Corporation in the United States. After holding leading positions at tech companies like Novasentis Inc and Logitech, Ramstein focused on liscencing business in the sporting goods industry becoming CEO at the Swiss company Myotest. In 2020 Ramstein was appointed CEO at Noveto, an Israeli, that has developed SoundBeaming[1] a patented technology that enables an immersive 3D sound experience via ultrasonic waves.

In 1991 Ramstein was awarded a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics at the Polytech Institute of Grenoble, France. In 1992 he moved to Montreal, Canada becoming a Senior Researcher at the Communications Research Centre Canada (CRC). Alongside publishing numerous papers he worked with the former astronaut and now governor general of Canada, Julie Payette, to develop new solutions for connecting astronauts in space to their families. In his research Ramstein worked on a device that gives tactile feedback to provide real-time physical interaction. After four years at the department of the Canadian government he founded his first company, Haptic Technologies Inc., in 1996, together with the now bestselling Sci-Fi author, Matthew Mather. With Haptic Technologies Inc. Ramstein created the first force-feedback desktop system for blind people, enabling them to use computers by feeling icons and text on screens with an innovative force-feedback mouse. After four successful years, Ramstein was able to sell his company to Immersion Corporation, a leading global licensor of haptic technology in 2000. Ramstein himself moved to the United States and furthered his career at Immersion Corporation in San Jose, California. As a specialist in haptics, he progressed from Senior Director to CTO of Immersion in 2008. At Immersion, Ramstein and his team were able to create innovative haptic experiences with common technology by integrating emotions and better vibrations e.g. to smartphones or gaming devices. After nearly twelve years at Immersion Corporation Ramstein worked as President and CEO at Novasentis Inc. in Burlingame, California. In 2015 Ramstein relocated to Europe becoming VP Engineering at Logitech in Switzerland, where he was able to demonstrate his longstanding expertise in leadership, innovation and the enhancement of creative thinking. In 2016 the Swiss company Myotest, a licensor of motion analysis algorithms, hired Ramstein as CEO. Here he was responsible for the liscencing business of Samsung’s “Advanced Running” in the sporting goods industry. Ramstein became a board member at Myotest in 2000 and has held this post to date. In June 2020 Ramstein teamed up with the Israeli start-up Noveto as CEO. At Noveto, Ramstein and his team have been working on Noveto SoundBeaming, a patented sound technology based on ultrasonic waves, that provides an innovative and immersive 3D sound experience without speakers or headphones.

Ramstein grew up in France before living in Canada, the United States and Switzerland. As father of two boys, who enjoys French, Canadian and U.S. citizenship, he is now based in Haute-Nendaz, Switzerland.
