Großajatollah Sadiq ibn Mahdi al-Husseini asch-Schirazi (arabisch آية الله سيد صادق شيرازي, DMG Saiyid Ṣādiq b. Mahdī al-Ḥusainī aš-Šīrāzī, auch Sayed Sadiq oder Ayatollah Shirazi; * 20. August 1942^[1] in Kerbela) ist ein schiitischer Kleriker, Großajatollah und Marja-e taqlid aus dem Iran. Er ist bekannt für diverse von ihm verfasste Bücher, Errichtung von islamischen Zentren, Non-Profit-Organisationen und islamischen Fernsehkanälen.

Sadiq Shirazi wurde am 20. August 1942 (1361 nach islamischer Zeitrechnung) in eine prominente Familie von schiitischen Geistlichen geboren. Derzeit verbringt er sein Leben in der iranischen Stadt Ghom und ist dort Leiter einer theologischen Hochschule. Sein Haus steht Besuchern aus aller Welt offen, egal ob Geistliche oder Nicht-Geistliche, Muslime oder Nicht-Muslime.^[2] Des Weiteren finden in seinem Haus regelmäßig Vorträge seinerseits zu islamischen Fest- oder Trauertagen statt.^[3][4]

Er ist außerdem Begründer von diversen islamischen Zentren und Fernsehkanälen. Auch suchen oftmals bereits bestehende islamische Gemeinden finanzielle Unterstützung bei ihm.

In seinen Vorträgen ruft er oft zu friedlichen Zusammenleben und gegeseitigen Respekt auf und gilt ebenso wie der Rest seiner Familie, als Friedensaktivist. Ein Beispiel dafür, ist seine Forderung auf die Freilassung^[5] des schiitischen Klerikers Nimr an-Nimr, welchen die Hinrichtung durch das saudi-arabische Regime droht^[6].

Sadiq Shirazi ist ein Sayyid und stammt somit, wie man auch an seinem Beinamen (Husseini) erkennen kann, von Imam Hussein, dem Enkelsohn des Propheten Mohammed, ab.

Seine Familie besteht aus vielen berühmten iranisch-irakischen Theologen. Beispiele hierfür sind:
