[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]

The Berlin Recycling Volleys are a german volleyball sports team and part of the SC Charlottenburg. Currently they are playing in the first german "Bundesliga". Until summer 2011 the team went under the name of SCC Berlin. In 2014 the Berlin Recycling Volleys won the german championship for the sixth time. It was the third time in a row that they won the german championship.

The volleyball team SCC was founded in 1991 through the association of the players from the SC Charlottenburg, VdS Berlin and the SC Berlin. Many of the GDR top athletes continued their career in the "Bundesliga" just like René Hecht, Franko Hölzig, Ronald Triller, Robert Dellnitz and André Barnowski. But there were also a lot of new players that played for the SCC at the end of the 1990s like Marco Liefke, Stefan Hübner, Norbert Walter, Ilja Wiederschein, Frank Dehne, Björn Andrae. All of them were also once part of the german national volleyball team.

The squad for the 2014/15 volleyball season consists of 13 players. Ruben Schott, one of the youngsters of the team, signed a contract which is going to be persistant until 2017 but was borrowed by the Bundesliga-adversary "Chemie Volley Mitteldeutschland" for this season.

Every team plays in the highest division. The team with the oldest players doesn't participate in the regular league operations and only plays championship tournaments and participates in the adult league system.

In course of the German reunification the SC Charlottenburg received the responsibility for the GDR Youth-Centre in Berlin-Marzahn. In this manner the continuance of the Youth-Centre could be guaranteed and the support of infants and adolescents could be continued.
