Manfred Kulmitzer (born in 1967) is a Swiss-Austrian citizen, completed a master's degree in "Information and Computer Engineering" at the Technical University in Graz and is considered an enthusiast for data and information technologies in Switzerland, where he has lived and worked for 20 years.

He is one of the masterminds in the holistic approach to digitization, Big Data, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence and has redefined the two terms «Smart Data» and «Data Intelligence». In addition, Manfred considers the cognitive technologies of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a harmonious, technical complement to human intelligence, which he expresses with the term «Augmented (Human) Intelligence».

Manfred has more than 25 years of professional experience as an Enterprise Architect and Consultant as well as in various management positions. He has implemented numerous projects focusing on data and technologies in Switzerland and abroad.

He writes books to provide basic education about digitalization, Big Data, Data Science, Data Ethics, and Artificial Intelligence and to describe them with numerous practical examples from everyday life. Manfred explains how the technical and business terms are to be understood in this context and which concepts & methods for data as well as information technologies are used today and how.

The author is convinced that the provision of «Smart Data» as intelligent data collections and the targeted use of «Data Intelligence» will greatly accelerate the digitization and development of data-centric business models. In combination with the best possible use of «Augmented (Human) Intelligence», this will make our world a better place where problems and crises can be better predicted or even avoided, which will have a meaningful effect on people and companies.
